Welcome to the official Week 14 MFL recap thread this week in the MFL saw the final playoff spots claimed by Rock Terror, Dark's Dragons, and the big surprise The Fighting Kittens who managed to get in thanks to their 115 pt thrashing of Dark's Dragons plus losses by both The Taint & The Bastaaards. Also this week saw all but 1 game decided by 20 pts or less with the lone blowout being 153 - 38, there was also a new league record set this week for most losses in a season.
Of Hogs and Hokies (Danny Trioxin) vs. The Taint(Brett)
Just like Batman and Robin, Matthew Stafford and Andre Williams were a deadly combo for Of Hogs and Hokies, leading the way to a 96.74 to 84.68 victory over The Taint. They notched 30.24 and 20.70 points, respectively. These two teams are tied for 11th place with 6-8 records, but if you want to talk points, then The Taint has a clear lead, 1,322.18 to 1,202.82. This win was revenge for a Week 3 96.16 to 70.14 loss to The Taint. When assigning blame following this loss, The Taint can look in the mirror. Dark's Dragons must be as nervous as a cat in room full of rocking chairs when they see The Fighting Kittens on the schedule. They have lost by an average margin of 81.16 points this season when the two teams meet. Furthermore, The Fighting Kittens outdid themselves this week, and scored the fourth-highest point total in the league this season. It was a drop-off from his 40.30 points in the last matchup with Free Adrian Peterson. Free Adrian Peterson is still a tough matchup for Grave Robbers, who has a 2.06-point average margin of victory against them. This win was revenge for a Week 3 102.24 to 97.48 tight loss to MadMan Gamers. For MadMan Gamers, Jordy Nelson and Marshawn Lynch played the roles of Maverick and Goose, scoring 26.60 and 15.30 points, respectively. Both teams clinched a playoff spot this week. MadMan Gamers (8-6, 1,457.74 points) drops to fourth place while Go Blue Girl (9-5, 1,481.38 points) remains in second place.
