With Christmas just around the corner (20 days away) I figured it was time to celebrate and start a brief discussion about our favorite horror movies set around/on Christmas. Now while I have quite a few Christmas related horror favorites like Gremlins, Scrooged (it has some horrific stuff in there like a demented Carol Kane, David Johnson as Ghost of Christmas Past, and a crazed Bobcat Goldthwait with a shotgun to name a few), Psycho (hey it counts....it's set in mid December, there are Christmas decorations visible in the background...briefly and for some reason I always end up watching it around Christmas), Rare Exports Inc, (it's pretty good, but I think I like the shorts better) and Black Christmas (both original & remake) I've decided to focus on just one movie. Which in this case would have to be.....Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas. The reason I choose this movie (other than the obvious one....that it's fuckin awesome) as my all time favorite Christmas related horror movie over of the others I mentioned above is mostly because I have a lot more nostalgia for this movie (I first saw this in theaters with my Mom & sis around Christmas 1993 and have seen it at least 16 times since) than the others and it's one of a handful of movies that are perennial favorites in my family.
So do you feel the same about Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas or is there another Christmas related horror movie that is a personal favorite? If so why is it a personal favorite?

Santa's Slay. That shit's funnier than you think it's going to be, Goldberg is more menacing as Santa than you want him to be and they even manage to work in Hannukah jokes. Something for everyone.

I haven't seen that one yet, sounds interesting, might check it out when (or if) Netflix puts it back up on Instant Watch (I remember seeing it on there last week, but went to go add it and found out it's now gone )
