This episode of Harper's Island marks the series half way point (there are 13 episodes total) and takes place on Day 6, aka the day of the wedding, which unfortunately due to the events of previous day has been called off and the surviving wedding guests begin packing their bags. The sheriff finds a clue which (once again) makes the groom's brother JD look like the prime suspect in the recent string of murders that have been happening on the island, we are given flashbacks to Wakefield's infamous killing spree (most of which actually happens off camera and is imo very disappointing), we find out what went down between Abby and her father that led to their estrangement, we are officially introduced to former sheriff's deputy Cole Harkin who has been watching/stalking the wedding guests since they arrived on the island, and the other groomsmen find out what really happened to Booth.
Pros: decent editing, cinematography (when it isn't getting buried under the color tinting video effect used for flashbacks), we get more details about what happened "the day Wakefield came to the island", and fairly decent acting (outside of the flashbacks)
Cons: more drama stuff (though no where near as much as in the last episode), very little in the way of horror/suspense or blood/gore effects, and a (imo) poor job of trying to make some of the cast members look seven years younger for the flashback scenes.
Overall I give this episode a 4 out of 10 as it felt to me more like a disappointing filler episode cause there wasn't much in the way of overall story progression (other than the search for JD and the wrapping up of the Booth story thread) and most of the episode was more about fleshing out past events that have been talked up since the series began for the audience via flashbacks which I know can be a good thing, but in this case it was done in such away that it ultimately proved disappointing since we don't really get to see much of what happened (we see an explosion and someone being dragged screaming down a road) as it was done almost exclusively from Abby's pov. This episode's only saving grace imo (other than the merciful end to the Booth situation) is the end of episode cliffhanger. At this point in the series there have been a lot of ups & downs as well as an over abundance of drama (episode 6 had the most) and lots of deaths (5 in the first 2 episodes, 10 total) but from this point on I feel that things will become more consistent.
