Haha Lucas, you're cute. You can have your own personal Facebook and a page for the show, silly goose! You're right, I feel for you, and I understand you choosing personal time over the show. It is a lot of work to maintain all the logging, editing, and being the webmaster. That's 3 separate jobs along with being a host. Since it is horror, the content is very selective and it is hard to keep up. You have to have a whole team that's very diligent and very passionate. I was afraid it was all too much and discourage you. Sorry, but there will always be fans who bitch. I did not mean to conquer you or the show. You are the backboner and the shit melts when you're fucking ass. <what? 0_o haha!
Anywho, I meant theoretically, your recorded show should be better than your live show. True or False? You aren't on the air live but you record it very similar, very linear. I feel like all you do when editing is cutting out all your breaks and then adding the intro and outro music. If you're not keeping track of time for the breaks just make a high pitch snap to mark the recording so you can skim through it easily when editing. You try to put the show up the same day you record. You have no schedule which I think is ehhh, not smart, but I understand. Even a show every two weeks would be a good schedule. Blah don't waste your time arguing with me, I make too much sense. Haha. Anyways Lucas, 60 hours cool! Terrestrial? Talk Radio? Who do you listen to? Lets geek out.

Hoooooly Shit. Clearly someone has no idea what it takes to create/maintain a podcast. Let me offer my own thoughts here boomstick. I've been in contact with Lucas and crew for.......3 years now (I think?) and I've enjoyed listening to every episode that comes out. Sure, not every episode is a home run, but the number of good to awesome episodes far out weigh the so-so to bad episodes. As a podcaster myself I know just how hard it is to get an episode done. Sure it may sound like a walk in the park, but there is a lot of work that goes into the show "On-Air" as well as off. Off air preparation alone is a huge undertaking, because when you've got a full time job, sitting down to watch a movie just isn't always something you can do, not to mention gathering news and other shit to make sure you have content for an episode, on top of wrangling up your co-hosts, which is another nightmare in and of itself because at least in TMHS case, they have 5 guys to try and get together to record. I have enough trouble trying to get my 1 co-host to sit down to record because we have such different schedules, I can only imagine how hard it is to try and get 3 or 4 of the hosts together for TMHS, especially since their not all in the same place (or time zones) Editing sucks. Period. You don't know the anguish of a podcaster until you've lost an ENTIRE EPISODE AND THE HOURS OF WORK PUTTING IT TOGETHER BECAUSE OF A PROGRAM CRASH. It can be disheartening to say the least. Now, Compound all of that (editing, pre-show set up, host wrangling, etc) on top of trying to run a marketing campaign and you've got the work of at least 10 people in the lap of 1 person. Oh and allllll of that on top of trying to have a social life/working a "Real" job because podcasting doesn't pay the bills. Don't mistake this for me kissing the asses of Danny or Lucas (Webula and Undead don't actually do anything ) because it's not. I respect them for what they've managed to do over the past few years with this show, and I respect their dedication to producing such a quality podcast with no tangible reward, other than people on the internet saying "Hey, I like your show". I miss hearing new episodes of TMHS as much as the rest of the minions, but I completely understand the needs of the crew to take a break to deal with other obligations, and if they were to decide that they wanted to pack it in, I'd be sad to lose a favorite show, but I'd understand why. So how about instead of running your mouth like a fucking asshole and trying to start shit, why don't YOU go out and promote TMHS? Or better yet, why don't you try making your own podcast and see just how fucking hard it really is.

You completely right. It is a difficult task to keep up a non profit show. I understand that. Question is though, how does someone start a successful podcast? How can you turn your show into something appealing to the casual consumer and reap the benefits? What does it take? If all you do but cry about how difficult it is then why do it all? I'm sure that passion and motivation to drive the show comes and goes. It's not my job to promote the show. Although, I do suggest the show to many friends, I personally think the show is just an acquired taste. Dave, why not promote YOUR show you mentioned and link your podcast? You may fail to see what I'm doing here. Take note that this post has been the most read and most replied in awhile. Everyone likes to shed some knowledge on an asshole, especially on forums. Tough love, dick head.

I appreciate you replying to this post because it goes so well with my cigarettes and coffee. I seriously try to refrain from rambling too much because I tend to over analyze everything. Frankly, it shouldn't matter at all what I think about the show. I'm hardly a statistic alone. I could of simply said "this show sucks" and it would of been easily overlooked. It's nice to see how many people speak in defense of the show, it offers nice contrast. I like to critique artwork and as far as I know this show is a project. A form of expression for these hosts. You want to sell me a product? I'll invest in some knowledge, but tell me something I don't know or I'll walk away unsatisfied. You want to entertain me? Well that's what I'm doing now... I've stated so many bottom lines now that I'm sure I'm falling into a free fall of repetition. Here Dave, tell me what success is to you. Define that for me and I'll tell you how to picture it and offer an example of how it is possible. This is no secret, just lack of foreseeing what is for yourself. I'd like to do a show and it'd be brilliant, but all my ideas are brilliant and I am too lazy to do something great. Douchebaggery at it's finest here.

Dave's right. Having done my own podcast and contributed segments to this show (and others), I can safely say that podcasting takes a LOT of work. That's why so many new podcasts disappear after only a few episodes. Once people realize how much work goes into it (work that they have to do themselves, no less) they split. I'm actually pleasently suprised that our hosts have gone on for this long. I've know them for 4 or 5 years now and I don't think it's a secret that they get burned out pretty quickly on each show that they've created--and I don't blame them! And (in my own opinion, of course) I also don't think it's a secret that they aren't that interested in promoting their shows. Yeah, they'll create Facebook pages and websites and whatever else to promote, but they usually give up on maintaining it. And who can blame them? After all, this is free entertainment. No one's paying them to do this stuff. This isn't a job. They have no reason to do this other than for the love of it. Podcasting is a unique way to get your thoughts and interests out to others who feel the same way that you do. It's why I've done it. And, honestly, I'm sick to death of hearing about podcasters trying to monetize podcasts. It goes against the original idea of podcasting: Use your voice to speak out against the establishment. I mean really, why do we enjoy podcasts? For me it's b/c I get to hear about subjects that terrestrial radio and TV don't have the balls to broadcast. Podcasts are individual slices of audio Heaven that spits in the face of corprate America. Admit it. Doesn't it drive you nuts when something new and interesting comes out and then gets taken over by companies? They now use sites like Facebook to advertise their shit. Taking over TV wasn't bad enough. Now we're subjected to ads online EVERYWHERE. To get off this rant before I go completely off topic, I can also understand Boomstick's points, but I think he just needs to accept the fact that this show will never be promoted (or edited apparently) to his liking--after all, you're not the first person to make suggestions. I've given similiar advice years ago. This is just the way it is. Yes, I miss hearing the show, but there are hundreds of other podcasts out there to fill the void. I myself listen to dozens of them, in all types of genres--and have been since I first discovered podcasts 5 or 6 years ago. So I say just enjoy the show when it comes out and if you miss new episodes that much then go back to episode #1 and work your way up. I've done it and it's always enjoyable. I don't know what else to say about this subject other than the fact that Boom reminds me of Wally Gator from "Reel Horror". Wally also thought he knew more about the show than the hosts and we fans of that show know how that ended. Let the hosts do it their way. It's THEIR show, after all, not ours. In the end, none of this shit is important. People are still dying of cancer. Children get molested. The rich get richer. Life goes on. Lastly, I hope our boys are doing good. Take care, fellas! And, just so you know, The 42nd Street Drive-In podcast was nice enough to play your promo in their newest episode (that being #10.) Who says no one promotes you guys? ?

Funny... you've never heard of The Reel Horror Podcast? I guess that proves how much you have really LISTENED to the words that were coming out of our mouths (even if some of them were unintelligable)... considering than Danny and I have said MANY times that The Reel Horror Podcast was the reason that him and I even started podcasting. We've sang their praises MANY times. But you know better than us... and yes, I may be a little bitter with some of your "Helpful" barbs. And what happened to Wally? No one knows... should we? Do you want to be another Wally? Way to be, boomstick.
I do thank both Fray & Dave for stating what they did. Because they "defended" us? No. Because they spoke about things that they actually know about. I've been happy enough to have gotten a chance to have many a conversation with both of these fellow podcasters. Fray, I still hate you for stopping "Filling In The Blanks" lol... j/k... though it was an EXCELLENT addition to our beginning of TMHS, and did always wish it would have continued, but I know how much work even a segment like that takes so I definitely don't blame you for ending it.
Do I think I will be able to record another episode of TMHS? Probably not, to be completely honest. My heart just isn't into it any more. Should you all think that that is the end of my podcasting career? Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll no. I will be back, and better than ever.... well maybe not better than ever... but to say the least, it will not be the same ol', same ol' wolfman lucas. Maybe I'm repeating myself... but then again, what's new.
And back to boomstick for a second... are you really taking credit for creating a thread that's gotten a lot of posts??? If you are, you are a fool. There are 7 reasons (if i were to count them all.... whether they think they are or not) that it's gotten the response it has.... and it is.... The listener's appreciation of what Danny Trioxin, Webula, Undead, Doctor Dark, Fray, Myself, AND even Mike Bracken have done to entertain them.

I'm taking full credit Lucas. Half of these responses are directed toward me and majority of them are my replies. I feel many people were eager to hear what you had to say about it and awaiting the next show, but I'm afraid I may have broken you. I may take credit for single handedly destroying TMHS. Consider yourself trolled.

My god, you must really think you are all powerful. No sir... you are a dumb motherfucker who happens to believe in his own narcissistic retardation. Do you ever take a moment to read the title of this thread? Trust me, THEY (the people who apparently actually care if we record again or not) actually are curious as to why we haven't recorded again. Don't get me wrong, there are some within the TMHS crew who take atleast some of what you say as suggestions on what we should do... to which i have told them on more than one occasion that i could care less what the fuck Boomstick as to say. Did you just read what you just wrote "I feel many people were eager to hear what you had to say about it and awaiting the next show' ... ummm that means you mean absolutely NOTHING in all of this, since they were apparently awaiting my words (which you seem to hardly ever understand fully... and the more and more i "chat" with you, it seems like it's more on your part than me not explaining myself well enough). You ACTUALLY think that YOU have broken me??? You do realize that Danny and I have been podcasting (minus the past 6 months) since Mel Gibson first called the female cop "Sugar-Tits" (for those not in the know, June 28, 2006)... and you think someone like you could "break me".... fuck no. You are just a flea that is obnoxiously biting on my leg... a single swipe and you shall be gone. Simple as that.
You have no clue about our plans. You have no clue about MY plans. You apparently have NO clue what you are even talking about. Consider yourself just another worthless piece of data in this wonderful world we all call the internet. Have you given me, Danny, Undead, Webula, Fray, Mike Bracken... hell, have you given ANYONE... ANY form of entertainment? No. Sorry. While you may not "Lose"... it doesn't take away the fact that you are in no doubt a "loser". Enjoy some other free entertainment, while you try to suck on them as well, like a damn leech.
And to further prove that you aren't what killed the show.... ummm... if you were, wouldn't you have had to start one of these "fantastic" threads... that apparently drew "all this attention"... WHILE we were recording... which THEN would make us quit?
No... you decide to wait until it's already pretty much over. So while I technically can't speak for everyone on the show, I will anyway by saying "fuck you" one last time.

Oh ... And I would just like to leave it WIDE open.... that IF Danny, Webula, Undead and Dr. Dark would like to continue TMHS, I'd be more than happy to turn over the simple $10 per month that i've been paying for the past year and a half+ (for this particular show) to them. At this point it doesn't matter to me.

Hahaha! Lucas are you mad? Did I upset you? You seem awfully annoyed by my antics. I actually believe that I may have brought up some crucial hurdles in the progression of the show and the fact co hosts bring up my suggestions is only evidence that you all have different opinions on the "success" of the show. Maybe YOU want to remain underground. Maybe my suggestions were too much for YOU to handle. Either way YOU are leaving the show, YOU are quitting on us and YOU fail. I just remember Danny saying there will be a show last month. Now all I get is your ramblings. You keep repeating yourself because there is no where for you to go besides circles. Like a plane spinning out of control about to crash and burn. You really expect to come back? With what... Lucas Mania? Give me a fucking break. Sorry I'm a loser, sorry for breaking your will. I wish you'd step up to the plate and pull the fucking sword from the stone, but no my words mean nothing. Cry me a river.

Hmmm. I'm honestly not seeing Boomstick's reasons for wanting the show to become some mega popular hit that will pull in money. What's your gain in this, Boom? It's cool that you're a fan, but this is a little extreme. Are you hoping for a cut or something? This is just bizarre behavior. And I don't know where you get off telling the hosts how to run their own show. I think you should stop living through them and just create your own podcast. Problem solved.
Lucas...hang in there, man. Speaking as someone who was diagnosed with Major Depression (and a few other disorders) I know how hard it can be just to get through the day. Just remember that I listen to your shows b/c I am a fan (and friend) of you, Danny, and Dr. D and always will be. You can bring in other people but they will never compare to you guys. I will follow you no matter what you decide to podcast b/c I know that it will be interesting. Don't let people who claim to be a fan bring you down, man. Their words mean absolutely nothing in the long run. The true fans are the ones who stick by you no matter what. Speaking of "Filling in the Blanks" I was thinking of starting it or "Into the Fray" back up, but I'm not sure yet. If you decide to do your own show shoot me an email about it and maybe I can do a segment for you. Just a thought.
By the way, Lucas is right: This is NOT the only thread that's gotten a lot of posts. That was a presumptuous remark.
Take care, fellas.

Don't you worry, Fray. At this point in my life, I am further from any kind of depression that I've been in years. Life is going pretty well for me at the time being. I do my best to not let people get me down, but when I speak (or type, in this case) I either speak with a passion or just nonsensicle ramblings. And whether it's my own show, or Danny and I going back to a 2 drunks style show (minus the drunks)... I will most definitely be back, and when that happens, you all will definitely be the first to know.

I see you're both catching on. I wanna fill you in on a little secret, but I'm afraid it's too late. With Wolfman quitting it's not as funny. Let's just say my behavior is bizarre and my intent of all this was for a reaction. Unfortunately, I doubt TMHS would continue without Wolfman. Usually when someone decides to bail like this it's courteous to announce on air and go out peacefully with one last show. It makes sense though, seeing how you assessed the situation and came to the conclusion that you're not much of a horror fan, Lucas. I know my put downs are juvenile, but I actually understand your reasoning. I just feel sorry for the TMHS fans. Somehow you made this about yourself and that your audience listens because of you.
