ummm... what does that have to do with anything, Mr.-I-Check-The-Forums-On-My-Phone? You came in here ... NOW 3 times on your phone... and once on your computer. Yes, we can tell the difference between the two. While I may have nothing going on this particular Saturday night means absolutely nothing. I'm enjoying 1 of 2 days off a week by relaxing and doing a whole lot of nothing. Why would I hold my breath? Sorry, I haven't been depressed enough to want to kill myself EVER... since that is what would happen if I expected you to respond to a response of YOUR response.

Thank you Wolfman for making you message comprehensible. I had a legible response before my gf closed the window. So I appoligize for my abbreviated and brief response. I get bad migranes and it's hard to maintain, but I need to get this off my chest before I can rest. This is why I think your show is currently failing and some ideas that could help, shit talking aside... For now.
I listen to ~40 hours of radio a week
TMHS=shock radio+horror genre niche=cult following=appeal to specific demographic
sloppy format + lack of material = dead air + bad flow > entertainment % = poor quality of radio
If Podcast > all, then msg brd + Facebook + twitter = podcast > fans. Everything should feed show than services for fan relations.
Suggest: Blog = (google searchable content + addsense + analytic) = (readers + followers) = listeners + traffic
Promotion= (FB + twitter+ msg brd + blog + rss) = (followers + guests) + (feedback + content) = traffic = $ > .com
Example: researching horror related content and reposting article on blog will get avid readers listening. Add Facebook and twitter like buttons on every post will self promote. Fans like tav offer content. He should be promoted, I have a feeling this is not the only place he writes his reviews. Maybe I'm wrong. But if you can efficiently promote, knowledgable guests of a higher status would be willing to help. Analytics and like buttons will give you a good idea of what is bringing readers or listeners.
Since your show is not live, you will not get very many phone calls. Interactive games and creative bits will make up for that. A recorded show should be better than your live show. Pre-show discussion and creative board meeting should be brainstorm for next show after not the current.
The demographic of fans identify themselves through the variety of radio host personalities. (Which is why my favorites are who they are.) Good chemistry will help the show flow.

Oh. TBH These forums could use a make over these colors attract the eyes but it's not very appealing. It looks very shady and old school, almost deep web/dark web status. Not very inviting. Just saying.

well I've for the most part kept quiet on this whole tiff you guys have been having the past couple of weeks/month and I'm not trying to stir shit up, but I feel the need to point a few things out as well as throw in my two cents. First I agree with boomstick's ideas to help the show get back to kicking major ass (btw guys I'm glad to hear you'll be releasing a new episode soon and I can't wait to listen to it). Second I feel the need to point out to boomstick that the guys already do one of the things you suggested on the show which is to regularly promote content that fans like myself contribute on the message boards during the show (heck I've lost count how many times within the past year that Danny and the guys have mentioned my reviews and urged listeners to check them out during the show which by the way thanks for doing that guys I really appreciate it) and you are currently wrong about my writing reviews...I do not current;y write reviews for any other sites, message boards, magazines, or newspapers (in other words all the reviews I've posted onto the message board are for the most part exclusive to this message board and you won't find them anywhere else)..though I will add that I am trying to change that and get a job as a movie review for a few local newspapers and magazines.....but that's a whole nother story for another day. Third, guys I know that boomstick can be harsh and act like an ass from time to time but I feel that he's trying to give you talkin material and motivation aimed at helping the show get back to kicking ass as well as offering ideas to expand the show's reach beyond the usual podcast venues (such as iTunes & Podcast Alley). Finally, boomstick a friendly suggestion you might want to tone the whole asshole thing down just a tiny notch for a little while after this whole thing calms down because it's obvious you've struck a nerve with the guys who do seem to put a lot of work into the show and I know that it sucks that some of the recent shows haven't exactly been what I'd like to call "classic midnight horror show" quality or that they can't incorporate everything that they (or for that matter what we) want into the show or that they don't record regular episodes on a set schedule, but hey they are human, shit happens, that's life and we all are just going to have to deal with it....there I've said my peace now you guys can get back to your regularly scheduled cock fight/pissing contest/purple nurple contest/homoerotic shaving or what ever the hell you want to call it...I'll be over here chillin watchin a horror movie on netflix during the thunderstorms that are currently rollin through my area. P.S. sorry for the long ass rambling message but like I said I felt the need to get shit off my chest.....which btw isn't a very pleasant thing to have on your chest...jkatlp (aka Just Kidding About That Last Part)

The antagonist's plan must always make sense. Hey Tav, I appreciate the response. I've always been curious if your reviews were exclusive, I only assumed they weren't because how professional and consistent they are. You are right, they do mention your reviews and other post from time to time. It's just unfortunate that these forums are so isolated. I wish you best of luck on looking for a writing gig. I do recommend a blog also, a portfolio blog. Maybe just to archive your work or network with prospectors. The news press is almost obsolete, and I know you can find something writing for a site. Just gotta know how to approach them, you must realize there are plenty of critics on imdb...etc. Actually a newspaper would look good. Anyways, I'll support ya, goodluck!
My last post is fairly common knowledge and obvious you've discussed it before. You've been on the right track, and you have had decent success. I've helped many friends with concept launching sites and blogs. There is a lot of preparation involved. It's not easy work and I don't expect this show to change over night. More often than not, launches just flop and fail. But yes Danny, you have the ability to mildly control your results. Just keep at it and dont be afraid to push yourself to try some new. Make a plan, set goals, and have fun with it. Seeing results will only motivate you, get that info as much you can. I know when I'm being an asshole. You can all suck eggs!

Oh! I forgot to mention, someone recently mentioned "We're Alive" Podcast. They've been having amazing success as a podcast in the horror genre, (maybe possible guest?) I believe they started as non profit, free listening, but now they are selling tickets to live recordings and selling memorabilia. Horror is just an acquired taste by the masses so your niche is difficult to sell, but it's very fan driven underground, and I think that's the whole vibe you guys have. I will stop rambling now. No pressure on the next show, just glad your back.

Hey Boomstick thanks for the complement, advice, and the offer to help me out with creating a blog/website (I might take you up on that offer if I can get a writing gig) I will take your advice and definitely look into getting a portfolio blog and possibly filling it up with a wide variety of content/reviews (other than my horror movie reviews which I think I'll keep exclusive to this message board), and yes I agree that the traditional news press is pretty much obsolete/just plain sucks. Which is why I have a few ideas should I get a writing gig at a traditional newspaper to create a professional online presence by possibly creating a blog and twitter account then linking them to my facebook page and start spreading the word sort to speak by using them to post and link to my written reviews and should things take off start making short video reviews to accompany the written reviews.

Hahaha! Yeah, Idk if you're asking or not. Tbh I now mostly skim through your reviews and look straight at the score because I trust your opinion. So I wouldn't expect a blog on movie reviews to blow up. Then again my friend does the same thing on movies and videogames and got invited to E3 with a press pass. Snap. I feel like a douche, I wish I knew how to write and be modest about it.

no, I'm not asking.....yet anyway.....your friend got invited to E3!.......lucky bastard....... wish I could have been there to check out Dead Island, sexy booth babes...err...I mean Battlefield 3, Batman: Arkham City, etc. in person .... instead I had to check E3 out through G4TV which kinda suckkked because they were limited to 3 - 5 hrs a day, kept pimping Call of Duty MW3 ( Which I think is a bit overrated) while waiting til the end of Day 2 to show Battlefield 3 some love, and they had to air the damned Ubisoft press conference which kept making me feel old every time the main presenter did his annoying take on the Waynes World wavy arm/flashback sound thing which you knew was coming because he would always say right before he did it lets go back 25 years to see what today's videogames would have looked like......ughh......just thinking about it makes me want to go get a drink.....Anyway some blogs do explode and are able to expand (want a somewhat bad example just look at the Huffington Post) while some just sit there and wallow in it's own shit......Also don't feel bad it takes time and practice or in my case lots of practice......I've been writing for almost a decade now with 75% of that coming from writing an ass load of essays (at least 7 essays a year for 4 years with each essay being at least 5 pages or more) while I was in college.

Well boomstick, sorry to take so long to respond, but considering I'm not going to be able to record for a few weeks, this will have to do. You listen to 40 hours of radio a week... I'm around 60. While all these things you mention could work on improving content and the visibility of the content, you do realize that (other than the msg board) all of this other stuff I have to maintain right? All while editing and posting the episodes... the twitter feed which fades from time to time... facebook which might as well be gone, because when not promoting, I'd much rather be me.... not wolfman lucas.
You are correct about a lot of stuff. However, you obviously don't take into account the amount of time that it takes to keep up with everything. Also, while it may bum some people out, if I would be making any small amount of $ recording/entertaining it wouldn't be for doing horror-related content... but we've been over the "Podcaster Who Happens To Like Horror" shit before.
What the hell are you talking about "since your shows are recorded, they should be better than you live show"? When have we ever done a live show? And just because it's recorded doesn't change the facts that sometimes we don't really have a lot to say, but you our listeners want more and more. You may like who you like on the show... but that also doesn't stop the fact that you do a little Divide and Conquer between the hosts. Seemingly just wanting to bitch about anything and everything.
