Yep, its happening for sure, Strike Entertainment, those assholes that fucked up the Dawn of the Dead remake, are begining production soon. Anybody else think this is a horrible fucking idea?

I think a prequel for 'The Thing' will probably suck balls. The original was flawless and one of the greatest films ever, IMO. However, I may be in the minority, but I love the Zach Snyder 'Dawn of the Dead' and think its every bit as good as the original, and in some ways even better. But yeah, unless they have a good director, The Thing will likely be shit. They might as well get Rob Zombie to do it. It will still suck, but people will pretend its good.

Heard one piece of interesting news on this today, I guess the whole supporting cast are being played by accomplished Norwegian actors, which is cool. maybe it will be like an inglorious bastards deal where we get really good performances from actors we have never seen before. I still think this is a really bad idea, but i'll throw them one little bone and say the casting sounds solid.

I'm with you Smoke I loved the Remake of Dawn of the Dead. If every remake could start out like that one, I don't think fans would be so pissed off when ever a remake, revisioning, or prequel was announced. Hopefully this unknown Norwegian cast can pull it off for The Thing.
