So for the first time tonight i Have seen the movie HIGH TENSION and i have to say that thats phenomenal movie . edgy, gory, kick ass deaths and a hell of a surprise ending. I have seen MARTYRS , FRONTIERS, and INSIDE and in my personal opinion i have to say high tension is a far superior movie. dont get me wrong the rest of those other films were great but i think HIGH TENSION kicks all form of ass. French writers and directors are pretty twisted and f**ked up in the head for creating such masterpieces but my hats off to all these great films is there any other French films out there that would be as good as these films, would love any suggestions thanks ;D

I do agree with you on High Tension... though I know Danny will disagree . I really enjoyed that movie. Granted I'd still mark Martyrs higher, I did like it better than Inside. Unfortunately, I don't have many suggestions other than what you've already mentioned.

I love High Tension but the 'twist' makes no sense whatsoever in a second viewing. That aside though, the movie was flippin' awesome. Great 'tension' of course, and really brutal and surprising gore. I would definitely put this above Frontiers, but Inside and Martyrs are on a totally different level, but that's just my opinion. The French are really f'd in the head it seems, ina good way though. Also check out Irreversible if you get a chance. Its not a horror flick and its really artsy, but there are a couple of scenes that are just completely brutal.

Forgot to mention 'Ils' (Them). Its a pretty tense French flick that's definitely worth checking out. Also, w/ The Devils Backbone, The Orphanage, REC, and TimeCrimes, the Spanish have also been making a lot of great films recently as well.
