I finally got to watch this movie that I had been waiting on for oh so long. Let me just start off by saying that this might very well be the best Halloween themed horror film ever made! what's that u say, not including Mr. Carpenter's masterpiece!! I mean the whole essence of this movie is Halloween from the costumes to the jack o lantern's, just flat out amazing visuals . The whole feel of the movie is campy, festive, and fun - I just can't say enough about how this movie expresses the holiday. I'm not going to go into the movie itself.. however, i will save that for when we have all seen the movie. However, I can see why Hollywood did not release this movie in theaters, although it would have been an epic event. But, your average movie goer would not appreciate the campy, good time that is Trick R' Treat. As u may guess, i am gushing about this movie and i really couldn't believe it was as good as it was. ;D anyway, WATCH THIS MOVIE! SUPPORT IT, BUY IT BECAUSE IT WAS AMAZING !!! 5/5 Attachments:

I agree 100%. I was lucky enough to see this at a test screening last November and was truly blown away.
It really is the definitive Halloween movie. It has a great playful 80's feel that you don't get in movies today, it really reminded me of alot of the old magical Spielberg, Zemeckis and Dante movies from the early 80's but as a R rated movie.
Even though Warner Bros truly screwed this movie over it will become a huge cult hit and become one of those movies you watch every halloween night alongside Halloween and Night of the Demons.

I knew I wanted to see this when I first saw the trailer on the 300 DVD. I'm always a sucker for any movie that features the halloween season in it. Well, I finally saw it last night. After listening to the steller reviews from you guys on the last episode (and others' reviews on various sites), I decided to buy the DVD instead of watching it online. And boy howdy am I glad I did! This has to be the definitive Halloween-themed movie made thus far! It oozed tradition from beginning to end. The story has this awesome Pulp Fiction-like style to it that works perfectly. The sets/locations are fantastic, the decorations and costumes were outstanding, and the overall tone screamed October. The acting and direction were well done (this isn't one of those movies where the characters are pointless to the story and are just there to die--at least not in my opinion. They die b/c the broke traditional rules and/or fucked with "the children of Halloween"). I also loved the E.C. comics feel--and, no, this isn't like a Tales from the Crypt episode or movie. It has its own feel to it that isn't exactly new, but at the same time it is (if that makes sense). One of the biggest pluses is that (as far as I can tell) all the effects were practical. No CGI! WHOOHOO! It REALLY made a difference--especially the werewolf scene, which, by the way, I didn't see coming. And while it wasn't overly scary, it also wasn't overly comedic, which is a plus. It really did have that old E.C. comics feel to it, where the horror mixed with a little comedy blended perfectly together. I jumped at least twice at some scenes, but mostly I had a big smile on my face. This is one of those rare movies where I enjoyed myself from beginning to end--and am still thinking about it the next day, and probably for the next several days. This movie is now one of my top 10 favorite horror movies of all time. I HIGHLY recommend it! By the way, did anyone else buy the DVD? If so, did you watch the animated short (created by the writer/director of Trick R' Treat) in the Special Features? Oddly enough I've seen that cartoon when it first came out (back in the early 1990s!) on MTV's Liquid Television, a show dedicated to short animated films--it's where Aeon Flux found an audience--and had completely forgotten about it. Now that I've seen it again, I now understand where the "Sam" character came from--a great character, by the way. It's interesting how one thing cn lead to a greater thing. I'm glad they included this. Now I just have to watch the movie again with the commentary Happy October!

Finally watched this movie, and its easily one of the best movies I've seen in a while, I really just can't think of anything bad about it. It's creepy but playful, very well written and shot, every part of this movie is just mind blowing. Will for sure rewatch it in October 5/5

I feel bad cause it's been out for some time and now I finally got a chance to watch it amd wow that is such a great movie. I had such high hopes hearing everyone talk about it and I was not let down. This fucking movie rocks, it to me is the best Halloween movie. It just has this great atmosphere about it really giving you the holiday feeling. I mean this movie has fucking werewolves and the god damn undead. What else could you possibly want?? I give it a 5 out of 5

Yep. It truly is the best Halloween themed movie ever made. Too bad it never hit theaters. I think it would have done very well. Oh well. This October I plan on getting the Blu-Ray. I liked it that much. Maybe I'll give the DVD away as a prize for some contest. Hmmmm.

Last I heard, there is a sequel being planned. I personally think SAW has ran it's course and I think it would be awesome, if done well, if Trick r' Treat became a Halloween theatrical franchise. They really screwed the pooch by not releasing this film the first time.

trick r treat is the shit, I love this film and it's definitely going to become a part of my traditional Halloween viewing ( every Halloween I try to watch one or all of the following films.... Halloween, A Nightmare on Elm Street, and/or Evil Dead II).......and yeah Charlie Brown is an asshole........lol and I definitely agree that it is criminal that this film didn't get a theatrical run especially during the month of October because it would of wiped the floor with the Saw franchise just like Paranormal Activity did last year.
