Well I went to see the great Halloween 2 movie yesterday with my friends and boy let me tell you, if your one for brutal killings ya its ok but damn IT DID NOT KEEP TO THE STORY LINE! AHHH! Dr. Loomis who was the coolest guy in the original series is now made an asshole. Laurie is made insane and psychotic. Also there was a hopsital scene! But lets see unlike the original where it was ALL in a hospital, it was only a scene in which it was a dream that Laurie had one year after what happened from the first movie........It seems Zombie wanted to show a psychological bond between Laurie and Michael and let me just say the entire idea was an EPIC FAIL! What Laurie turns into at the end just pissed me off. Also being able to see Mikes face partly in some scenes and the mask being riped just pissed me off. I DON"T WANT TO KNOW HIS EMOTIONS! Looking at an eye yes you can tell what someone is thinking but either way I just wanted to see an emotionless mask.
IF you wanna see it for the violence then is 3/4 worth it but if your looking for a remake it wasn't. It was as whole different storyline than the REAL halloween 2 and its just as retarded as Rock Revolution XP
I give it a 3/10

My issue is... Why is everyone expecting this to be a remake of Halloween 2? It's not. It is a sequel to Rob Zombie's "Re-imagining" of Halloween. I won't say you are wrong with the points that you bring up; however, they didn't bother me nearly as much as it seems to everyone else.
I really enjoyed the movie ... but that's just my opinion.

I really didn't hear it being a sequel to HIS version but I just heard it as a remake which is why it pissed me off when I seen it but other wise remake or not...it just sucked for me. I hated how Laurie turned insane at the end.

I think Laurie going crazy was a more believable outcome than becoming some snot nosed teacher at a ritzy boarding school 20 years after the first incident(H20). I can see your point, Ajax, because a lot of others...MANY others share the same opinion you do of the movie. I have to agree with Lucas, though, I truly enjoyed this movie. There were some big errors throughout, but then again..what horror movie doesn't have those moments. I used to lump myself in the group of people that were against remakes, revisions, whatever...but if you think about it..what's so wrong with other people showing their take on classics?? That shit has been going on in the music industry for years and every once in a while you will hear a rendition of a song that sounds far superior than the original. I say...the more takes on great work..the better...even if they don't appeal to the masses.

Okay, I hated Rob Zombies first Halloween. I like the fun-house feel of House of 1000 Corpses and was truly shocked by Devil's Rejects. I think Halloween 2, or H2 as the kids call it, is on par with HO1kC and DR. I enjoyed this movie. From ever thing I have read on the internet, I am in the minority on this one.
What I hated about the first RZH was that it took away all of the mythical aspects of Michael and just turned him into an abused little kid that liked to torture little animals. Here, in H2, he has added back the mythical aspect. This movie felt like a halloween film, not the series, but the holiday. I loved all of the bizarre imagery and the more cohesive feel of the film over the first. I even like the direction that Zombie took Dr. Loomis. Sure, he isn't the Loomis we all grew up loving, but if I wanted to see that Loomis, I would just watch those films.
I don't mind remakes, but I do want them to show me something different that I didn't see in the original. In the first Halloween, Zombie stripped away what made the original magical by giving form to the 'shape' and then just remaking the original. Here, he showed me something completely different and intriguing.
After the first remake, I could have cared less about where the story was going to go, then I saw the trailers with all of the crazy-bug-nuts imagery and was curious. This ending has me hooked and I cant wait to see in what direction they take the franchise. Then again, I always felt the franchise should have taken the different story every year route. Yes, I like Season of the Witch.
As for the violence, yea it's brutal and also the least intreating thing in the movie.

I'm looking forward to seeing this one. I'm a Zombie fan and I enjoy his movies b/c they're different from other mainstream horror movies. I like how he adds a little more reality to his characters. If I was almost killed by a hulking giant of a man in a mask I'm sure I wouldn't be the most sane person on the planet. It always bugs me how survivors from the first movie act like nothing happened to them in the sequel. What?! You were nearly hacked to pieces and your life hasn't changed at all? ? Are you super human?! So, yeah, I like when the survivors have fucked up problems after almost being killed. It's more believable to me. As for remakes, I like them. Its not like they're replacing the original. If that were the case, then, yes, I'd be outraged. But to have a separate version is not a big deal to me. If you don't want to see it then don't. Simple as that right?

I liked it but I felt like Rob didn't go crazy enough with it. I wanted more stuff like that weird dream thing with all the people with pumpkinheads and shit. I mean they established that young Michael loved Halloween in the last one, I wanted to see more of the crazy visions he would have on Halloween that would want to make him go really crazy. Yeah he would kill anyone who messed with him, but it seemed like he was laying pretty low for the last year, walking the earth like Kane in Kung Fu, and then he really went on a spree again on Halloween. The white horse just wasn't enough. It seemed like there should have been alot more going on in his crazy head.
The brutality was awesome though, my favorite scene was when he showed up at the Rabbit in Red. I like the last one better, but I'm glad Rob got to wrap up his own little Halloween series, and I hope no one tries to make a sequel out of his version. I think the franchise is dead anyway, they will probably have to lay low for 10 years or so and reboot again since the original series is wrapped up now and the remake series seems to be wrapped up as well.
I'm looking forward to Rob Zombies The Blob, but I hope he gets to do another completely original movie again soon.

Liked it a lot, although it was weird hearing Michael grunt when killing. But no biggie.

I watched this a while back when it came out on video. I definatly thought the first one was a fucking disaster, but H2 was better in certain areas. I actually watched H2 twice, and I decided i think it has some really good parts, and some really bad parts. I'll just list the bad things because they are easy to remember: 1. Sherri Moon is a horrendous actress 2. The grunting when micheal stabs someone is just silly. 3. The hospital opening is ok, but its also really formulaic. I wasn't really excited or surprised by any of it. 4. The only character with any sort of arc is Loomis, everyone else just kind of meanders through the movie. 5. Not a lot of Halloween the holiday atmosphere, I think they mention it like once before the big halloween party scene. 6.They changed Haddonfield a lot, its a total bumpkin town. It just seems like a liberty that shouldnt have been taken.
Overall, lets just say I have mixed feelings about this one.

just thinking about this movie............pisses me off.............this whole movie is a big fuck you to the audience.........think about it...... 1. the opening scrawl telling us the meaning of that white fuckin horse ......like we can't figure it out just by watching the movie......we get it ...it means Mikey is angry about his mama blowing her brains all over the living room wall .....2. overuse/misuse of cuss words (3 mins straight of one guy saying nothing but the word fuck....and a bunch of girls calling each other dick lickers....wtf.... I don't know any girl who'd let another girl, let alone a girl friend call her a dick licker without beating the ever living shit out of her) 3. The entire hospital sequence was a put in as a fuckin tease to make people think that maybe just maybe the movie would be better than Zombie's first Halloween film and that it was indeed going to be a remake of the second Halloween movie and it was also a giant fuck you to those people who would have wished to see a remake of the second Halloween instead .........4. The return of the song Love Hurts only instead of the regular version used in the first one we get the slow/drawn out version ( Rob Zombie must have been thinking hey if people think this awesome song was misused in the first one (i.e. people bitched about it) .......guess what........ fuck you..... I'm going to put a longer more drawn out version in the sequel just to make you suffer) 5. Bad Editing......The Bookstore signing scene ...need I say more.....6. Dr. Loomis has no other reason for being in this movie other than to be a douche bag and to show up at the end to try and save the day(again)......and again ends up as shush kabob .....ps....wtf I thought he died in the first one....didn't Mikey poke out both his eyes with his bare hands.....6. at about the half way point you wish Mikey would show up already and kill the annoying whinny little bitch formerly known as Laurie Strode.....( I know it is an interesting way of giving a new twist on a character and exploring new ground.....but you still got to make her likable/sympathetic for the audience in order for them to be able to root for her at the end) 7.Sherri Moon Zombie......everyone thought oh thank god we don't have to endure Sherri Moon's Mrs. Myers in the sequel YAY!!!.....guess what ......fuck you ......she's back as a ghost......with a white fuckin horse........8. This was the Lord of the Rings of slashers.......half the movie is Mikey walking through open terrain on his way to Haddonfield ....occasionally stabbing any random redneck assholes he comes across... (btw why didn't he just steal their truck and drive to Haddonfield like he did in the first one).... ..I swear I could hear the soaring music from Lord of the Rings playing in the background as mickey hiked along the backwoods of Illinois..........9. The bobble-head scene at the end of the movie with Laurie.....thanks Rob .....I needed to see that along with the image of a female Michael Myers in a french maids outfit.............10. Grizzly Grunting Myers......wtf .....does it really that much effort to stab someone multiple times to the point that it causes you grunt....a lot...................moving on...................the only things I liked about this movie was Annie's character development and tragic end........the surreal imagery involving the dinner table/the great pumpkin king/Laurie in a glass coffin filling up with blood ( I wished it was real and that she was dead/drowned)...and the hospital sequence............ despite it being one of Rob Zombie's Fuck You moments in the movie......I think Zombie should stick to his original scripts/hillbilly horror movies and never touch another remake/franchise ever again ( I loved the Devil's Rejects)......cause he'll fuck it up somehow every time ( have ya'll heard Rob Zombie is making a blob-less blob remake....yeah ......still scratching my head on that one...... )......... this movie really pisses me off.....if I could get a copy of the actual film they shot for this film I'd take a shit all over it and then set it on fire making shit burgers.........I give it a fuck you negative 100 out of 10......
