The following is from CENOBITEDAVE:
Nightbreed: Unleashed
After the events of Nightbreed, the tribes of the moon have been in hiding while Cabal has been searching for a new home. After 20 long years, Cabal has returned to deliver his people into their new permanent home, but Decker, with the assistance of the now mad Ashberry, have amassed their own legion of monsters to destroy the Nightbreed. Using the blood of Baphomet, Decker and Ashberry have kidnapped, murdered and resurrected a small army of half breeds, as well as those who were true Breed, but were found by Dekker before Cabal could reach them.
Characters:
The Breed: Cabal (Aaron Boone) Peloquin Annastasjia Lude Kinski Babette (now an adult) Leroy Gomm Narcisse Lori The Villains: Decker Ashberry Nicor (pure breed) Vetis (pure breed) Philatanus (pure breed) Astaroth (pure breed)
As there are only six issues to tell the story, the main focus of the first two issues are Cabal and the Breed we saw in the film, as well as the peripheral characters that have been created for this story, mostly used in background shots, etc. The end of issue two is when we first hint at Decker and Ashberry still being alive and what they’ve been up to, though it would be done in an “off camera” voice over by Decker, with the main focus of the scene being the ruins of Midian and the hints of movement.
Issue three would be our re-introduction to Dekker, the ruler of what is left of Midian. Dekker is never shown without his famous mask, as his death and subsequent resurrection by the blood of Baphomet has fused the man and the mask into one being. Through this issue we are introduced to Dekker’s three main lieutenants, Nicor a former Olympic swimmer who after an injury became addicted to prescription pain medication and was eventually picked up by one of Dekker’s many lower “Half-Breed”. Vetis, a former lawyer and pure blooded bastard and Philatanus, a child molester and murderer who was a former patient of Dekker’s. These three “Pure Breed” were all men who were meant to be part of the Nightbreed, but were so corrupted by their own pride, greed or lust, that when touched with the blood of Baphomet and transformed into their true forms, they would have never been accepted by the tribes of the moon. Also in this issue, we are shown how Dekker uses his powers of persuasion (now enhanced by the resurrection) to draw the weak and afraid, the tormented and the forsaken, to his new Midian so that they can be transformed into his “New Breed” a race of half humans/half animals that Dekker has spent most of the past 20 years attempting to perfect.
Issue four will be focused on the exodus of the Nightbreed with Cabal to their new home, and the preparation of Dekker and his army to rise up and slay the Nightbreed once and for all.
Issue five and six are focused on the Nightbreed reaching their new home, a place called “New Megiddo” and Dekker’s army’s arrival to destroy the breed. The last half of Issue five is dedicated to the battle and will mostly be large splash pages of Breed vs. Breed in as graphic bloody detail as possible.
Issue six will pick up as Dekker makes his way through the battlefield hunting for Cabal. This issue will be told from the perspective of Dekker, Ashberry and Cabal. Dekker’s voice over pieces will mostly be about how the bloodshed and destruction of the entire breed was his master plan all along and how he wants nothing more than to destroy Cabal and bring about a reign of terror upon the world. Cabal’s pieces are told from the perspective of a father type figure. Cabal knows Dekker has lead these false breed to his tribes home, and knows that he must destroy Dekker to end both the battle and whatever else Dekker may have planned. Cabal’s pieces are similar in tone to Dekker’s, as both men are so focused on destroying each other that the battle around them is of little importance. Ashberry’s pieces however is that of a man deceived a priest who’s lost his faith in his god. Seeing the bloodshed and the sheer brutality and lack of concern from Dekker, Ashberry realizes he’s been used and that this whole war that Dekker has been waging was a sham, a cheap excuse to take revenge.
The final battle between Dekker and Cabal takes center stage for most of the end of the issue, but it’s Ashberry who eventually brings about the end of the battle. Ashberry remembers his religious past and calls down the wrath of God to “Cleanse the false and the unbelievers”. This is the first time that Baphomet is ever actually seen in the series in his true form. Baphomet lays waste to the half breeds that Dekker created, as well as Dekker and the lieutenants. The pure breed who had been warring on the side of Dekker are spared as they are still Baphomet’s children and after seeing their true God before their eyes, they join the Nightbreed.
The miniseries ends with a voiceover by Ashberry, who is still very much alive, but has been taken by Baphomet back to Midian. The scenes shown over during his voice over are the Breed working together to pay final tribute to their fallen and then retreating back underground to begin work on their new home. Ashberry is shown in the last panels in the very bowels of Midian, far beyond any place we saw previously in the comic or in the film. It is here he finds a small glowing child, whom he believes to be the true savior of the Breed and or Baphomet in the flesh. The issue ends with Ashberry holding the child, proclaiming that when the time is right, Baphomet will rise again and the breed shall rule the world as they are meant too.
The ending of the miniseries allows for a future spinoff/continuation of the story, as well as there being enough open ground for the new breed characters who aren’t outlined here to be given more full backgrounds (miniseries tying into this one explaining how Dekker drew them to Midian, who they were as humans, etc)

Jason Voorhees
Prolog
Jason Voorhees has been killing for longer than most of us have been alive. For all we know he is killing to avenge his mother. That is partially right, what we don’t know is… He has had help…
A machete is swung through the air. A head lands on the ground. A little boy sits and watches his mother’s head roll a few feet from where he is. Hidden in the trees of the woods he watches the murderer walk back to the lake. He looks back at his mother’s head and stares. A hand gently touches his shoulder…
We follow him years after when he’s grown up and has killed many, many, people. But every victim he has killed has seen or thought they’ve seen someone observing while they got killed.
Jason Voorhees Book 1
Hunting Party
The first group in this book consists of two fathers Darryl and Charlie. Darryl's son Tyler and Charlies son Ethen. Last but not least their work friend Bill Parker who really likes drinking. They’re going to their bosses hunting cabin for the weekend. When they arrive everything is what they expect. It’s a beautiful cabin. Deer and elk’s heads are mounted on the walls along with many antlers. There is even an 11ft stuffed grizzly bear that towers over them in the living room. They open the fridge to put their beer in and low and behold it’s already stocked with Labatt Blue. There’s a note on one of the beer. “Have fun this weekend guys. There is a target range in back by the lake. The code to the gun and bow case in the main bedroom is my birthday. So hope you all have fun this weekend and please don’t kill yourselves." They all take a beer and unpack their things. After unpacking they unlock the gun case and head out back for some target practice
So as the night moves on there’s a lot of card playing and a lot of beer drinking… well for Bill a ton. When its time to go to bed Bill grabs a bottle of JD and heads out on the dock for some air. He loves how calm the water is at night, and how the moonlight shines on lake. He can hear every woodland sound. He thinks to him self, “I need to stop drinking, it’s going to be a rough morning tomorrow.” He turns to set the bottle down and gets a machete right in his gut. Up by the cabin he sees someone and tries to scream for help but nothing comes out. They just vanish into the woods. Jason takes his machete back and pushes him into the lake.
In the morning Tyler and Ethen get up to go fishing. They get all their gear and head out to the dock and cast their lines in.
Ethen notices the bottle of JD spilled over the dock. “He’s such a drunk ass. Could have at least picked up after him self.”
Darryl and Charlie came down to join them and ask, “Has Bill came down here yet?”
Ethen says, “No but look at the mess he made on the dock.”
“Well it is on a dock we can just rinse it off son” said Charlie.
“Wait what’s that out in the water Charlie? Did he fall in last night?” said Darryl
“No it’s probably just a piece of wood.” Tyler said.
“NO THAT’S NOT!” Yelled Charlie. “Get the boat. Tyler you stay here. You two we got to go get Bill!”
So they go out and row to the thing in the water.
“He must have passed out and fell in.” said Darryl. “What the fuck! What are we going to do now?” Charlie yells to Tyler “Call 911”
As Tyler goes to the cabin they pull Bills body out of the water on to the boat. They notice that he didn’t drown; there’s what seems to be blood in the water and as they flip him on his back there’s a huge cut going deep into his stomach.
“Holy shit! He was stabbed! He didn’t fall in drunk.” Said Charlie.
“Shoot! Where’s Tyler?” Said Darryl right before an arrow goes through his head. He falls in the water.
“Damn, Damn, Damn, we got to get the hell out of here! What the hell is that on shore?” Charlie yells.
He then gets an arrow through the chest. Ethen starts to row to the other side of the lake. But as he gets closer he sees someone standing on the shore of that side too. Then he joins his father and two friends in the lake.
In the cabin Tyler tries the phone but it doesn’t work. His cell won’t work out here either. He goes to the gun case and grabs and loads the rifle he was using the day before. He pockets the remaining shells and goes back out to the lake. He sees the boat on in the lake but nobody is on it. He sees more bodies floating in the water. He turns around just in time to see Jason drawing back on a bow and dives behind a tree. As Jason reloads Tyler starts firing the rifle right at Jason’s chest. Jason falls down. He walks up to him and finishes his off his clip. He starts walking to the cabin and Jason sits right up.
“Oh shit! What is this guy!” He runs off into the woods.
Jason Voorhees Book 2
Camping Party
I introduce two couples; Jacob is with Sarah, and Michael is with Emily. They’re going camping for the weekend. As we start off the story they’re driving and almost out of gas. So they stop at a gas station to fill up, and they all go in to get food and snacks for the campfire. As they pay they ask the clerk how far Camp Mirror is?
“You got about five more miles up the road and on the right you’ll see a sign.” Said the clerk.
As the others walk out the clerk says “Hey wait. You now that is a bad place no one ever goes there anymore. It used to be called Camp Crystal Lake decades ago.”
“Well that’s good then that means no one will bother us. We’re here to drink and have fun with the girls.” Said Michael.
“Ya, I’m sure if privacy is what you want no living soul will bother you. But don’t say I never warned you.”
“Alright old timer I’ll see you around. Take care”
The clerk smiles as Michael leaves and says “Yes boy we will see you around” as he looks down at the real clerk who lies on the floor behind the counter with his head twisted all the way around.
By the time they get to the camp and set everything up, they go into their separate tents. Michael and Emily get straight to business. And they are loud. After they’re done he says, "I have to piss.”
“Don’t take too long, round two could be next.” Emily said.
Michael walks so far in to the woods he can barely see the glow of the campfire. Beyond that though he can see a person standing by the fire looking at him. He thinks to himself its just Jacob. But he gets a weird feeling as he’s just staring at him. What the heck is he doing? He thinks to himself. “Hey Jac…” He falls down into two pieces. Jason turns and walks back into the forest.
When Emily wakes up she sees Michael isn’t in the tent. The thinks to her self I must have just fell asleep while I waited. It’s weird that he didn’t wake me up when he got back. She gets out of the tent and sees Jacob and Sarah making breakfast.
“Have you guys seen Michael this morning?” Emily asked.
“No not yet, but I bet you two had a good time last night. We heard everything.” Said Jacob.
“Well ya we did, but I don’t know where he’s at.”
“I got up pretty early and I didn’t see him come out of your tent.”
“I’ll go look for him, he might have past out in the woods somewhere. Someone has to finish cooking the food though.”
He leaves to go look for Michael. Jacob looks for a good hour but he does find him, but not the way he expected. He starts to yell for the girls but he’s too far into the woods for them to tell where exactly the shouts are coming from. Then the shouts stop.
The girls are scared but they have a feeling their boyfriends are playing a trick on them. So they wait… and wait… and wait. Now they’re really scared and kind of pissed. They’ve been gone a long time. They go into the tent in hopes of no one seeing them. They end up falling asleep. Emily wakes up from a noise she heard outside. She’s scared but doesn’t want to wake up Sarah. She hears whispering from out side.
“Is anyone there? Hello? I need help.”
She starts to unzip the tent door. Then Jason comes out of nowhere and chops Emily right in her face with his machete. Then Tyler starts firing right into Jason’s back.
Jason falls. The Sarah awakes and starts screaming. She sees here friend with her head almost off. Tyler runs up to her and tries to calm her down.
“Come with me quick, he doesn’t stay down for long. I’ve shot this freak fifteen times and he came back.”
They both run off into the woods.
“I don’t know what the hell that guy is but he’s killed my dad and our friends. We have to find help.”
Jason Voorhees Book 3
On the Trail
As Tyler and Sarah drive through the woods in Sarah’s car. They come across two more campers in the woods. Their names are John and Rose. They’re bikers on vacation and from Detroit MI. They’re cooking food for lunch on a campfire, when the two younger couple ran in to their campsite.
“What’s wrong you two?” Said Rose
They tell them all about the killer that has killed all their friends. How shooting him does nothing. Its like he can’t even feel it. John said that he’s heard about the urban legend of Jason Voorhees and his mother, but that’s been decades ago and it’s just a legend it can’t be real.
“We have to get out of here. Just come with us to the gas station so we can call the police. There’s safety in numbers.”
John of course has a handgun. He grabs that, they get on there bikes and the kids follow them. The four of them head to the gas station to find a phone that works. On the way the bikers think they see a man in the middle of the road about 200 yards ahead. Before they know it a barbed wire rope is strung across the road. Tyler and Sarah see both John and Roses heads fall off and their bikes come crashing together. They end up hitting the wreckage. There’s nowhere to go. Tyler has reloaded his rifle knowing it won’t help and they just sit in the car in hopes of someone passing by.
Morning comes and they’re still in the car. Sarah wakes up and Tyler looks to her and says “Haven’t seen anyone out there for the past hour. We should be okay to walk the rest of the way to the gas station. So they get out of the car and start walking… fast! In about two hours they make it to the station. “It seems there’s no one here.” Sarah said. Except when looking behind the counter and finding a man with his head almost twisted off. Sarah tells Tyler that’s not the guy they saw two days ago. Then from out of the back a man in a black hat comes walking out. She says “But he is.” The boy runs up to him and says, “We need to use your phone. There’s a killer out there and he’s messed up and he won’t die, and I think he killed your employee and we’ve got to call the cops and get out of here.”
“Settle down my boy settle down, you need to relax. I know whats going on. I’ve contacted the police. They’re on their way. I know about this killer that’s out there.”
“You did? You do?” said Tyler.
“Yes I know all about Jason.”
“Jason? Jason Voorhees, the boy that watched his mother murdered?” “Yes… all about him. I’ve created everything that boy is now and everything he will be.”
Jason then walks up behind Sarah and raises his machete.
Jason Voorhees Book 4
The Last One
This book starts off with a machete in Sarah’s head and Tyler running out the back door of the gas station, in to the woods. The man in the black hat says. “He’s the one you need Jason. Don’t kill this one though we need him. Jason leaves to chase down Tyler.
Tyler runs through the woods and comes across a very rundown cabin. He runs up to it and starts banging on the door. “Help! Help! Anyone home!” No one answers. He knocks harder. “Hello!” The door pops open from the force of his knocks. “Hello? Anyone here?” He walks in and he’s in a living room. He sees a beat up table in front of a couch with one cushion. An old rocking chair sits in the corner. Dust and dirt cover every surface. He then slowly walks threw a hallway. Entering a bedroom at the end, with a bed on his left and a pentagram outlined with what looks like blood on the floor. At each point on the pentagram unlit candles sit on the ground.
He then hears a big crash out side. Tyler looks outside to see Jason coming out of a shed with a shovel in his hand. Tyler runs through the house out the front door and just runs back out into the woods.
He runs for what seem like hours he just falls from exhaustion. He rests up against a tree thinking he has to be far enough away from Jason to take a rest. Not two seconds later he sees the man in the black hat step out from behind a tree.
“Very good son but you can’t ever run from him. He will catch you.”
Tyler raises his rifle and fires right between the eyes of the man in the black hat. He drops right to the ground. Tyler smiles. “Well now where is your Jason to help you asshole.”
He raises right back to his fee and says. “Right next to you.” Jason hits the boy with the shovel and knocks him out
Jason Voorhees Book 5
The Pact
After Jason sees his mother murdered he’s kind of confused. He doesn’t know why she won’t talk to him. He goes to touch his mother’s head and her eyes open. “Jason my son I need you to kill everyone that hated us and laughed at you. Please do this for mommy.” Then a hand gently squeezes his shoulder. A gentle kind looking man in a black hat is behind him. Jason doesn’t think why this man is here out in the woods he just knows and can feel his concern for his loss. “Hello Jason. Your mother said she wants revenge. I can help get that revenge Jason. I have a deal I can make you. You miss your mother Jason?” Jason nods. “And she wants revenge right?” He nods again. “Well I can help you get that revenge and then help you bring her back. Would you like that Jason?” Jason moans faintly “Ya” “What you have to do is kill 666 people and send their souls to me and you will get your mother back. The last one though will be a sacrifice for your mother. Take as long as you need. I’ll make it so nothing can happen to you. You won’t fell pain and you will not die. Dose that sound good. Do you want to kill those who killed your mother and people like them. Jason speaks more clearly “Yes.” Jason on the ground reaches and gently grabs the man’s hand.
The Devil teaches Jason how to stay hidden and how to use the black arts to summon him when he needs him. Years go by before he kills anyone. For his first victim he uses the black arts to find and kill the bitch that killed his mother.
Jason Voorhees Book 6
The Return
Tyler wakes up tied in the center of the pentagram. The candles are now lit, but he can’t see anyone around him and can not got out of his bounds. He lays there for what seems an eternity. Then from the front door he hears someone come inside. The man in the black hat steps a foot into the room with Jason right behind, of course holding his machete. “Now if you haven’t figured it out, you are going to die. I am Lucifer and you are to be Jason’s last victim… Well actually Mrs. Voorhees’ next victim. “Jason we need to bleed this boy slowly. So do your work.” Jason comes bounding in and just chops off his arm. “Whoa Jason, slowly. We need him alive for your mother." Jason just looks at him. “Oh well I guess that’ll do.” says Lucifer. They both turn toward the door and Lucifer says they’ll be back when she arrives. As Tyler's blood fills the pentagram he knows this is it. He feels the floor start heating up then starts burning. Just in side the pentagram a fire erupts and he is pulled into the floor.
“Well Jason I think our deal is done. Go see your mother.” Jason walks into the room. Lying on the ground curled in a ball as if she's been tortured for an eternity is Mrs. Voorhees. Jason kneels down by his mother and touches her hand. She looks up at him with tear filled eyes. “Help me my Jason. Help me.” He looks up to Lucifer and looks back down. Lucifer says “So, my boy I think we could make a pretty good team. You and I. You can kill for me and I can give you anything you want.” Jason then stands up and walks to Lucifer, bowing his head. Then like a flash of lightning Jason slices him from groin all the way through to the top of his head.
The End…
Or is it…

Truth be told, I prefer Dave's NIGHTBREED pitch a bit more than Nate's FRIDAY THE 13TH. I can see both as interesting comics, but I think my aversion to giving classic slasher icons back stories makes me lean more toward the NIGHTBREED book. I would have voted but the poll is locked.

They haven't played it, Nate, as far as I can tell. I'm going to go ahead and end the contest b/c it's dragged on long enough. You got the majority of the votes so you are the winner, sir! Send me a PM with your mailing address and I'll send you your comics. I'm glad that at least two of you participated in this disaster of a contest. Thank you both!
