I'm pleased to report that the proof copy of volume one of the anthology book "Zombology" is on its way to Dr. Pus. I don't know much about the printing business, but I'm guessing that if he likes what he sees he will give the green light to the printers and one book will suddenly become hundreds and ready for purchase soon after. You can follow the news here: libraryofthelivingdead.lefora.com/2009/04/01/zombology-proof-copy-ordered/page1/ I personally can't wait to read it--and not just because my story is in it. I love a good zombie anthology and this one looks very promising. Please support Dr. Pus and Library of the Living Dead Press!

I got my contributer's copy (and check) today! WHOOHOO! I'm a published author. Ok, so my story isn 't the greatest and I won't be the next Stephen King, but damn do I feel proud of myself right now. ;D
I'm looking forward to Danny roasting me alive on the show when he reviews my story. And please be honest when you do, Danny.

Congrats, Fray. I plan (no kidding) on ordering a copy as soon as I get back from my vacation. I'm a bibliophile and have a huge collection of books. I mean huge. My girlfriend has had to put an allowance on my book budget each week. Used to be I would spend upward to two hundred dollars a month just on books. I'm the kind of person that will buy the hardcover, then in a few months buy the trade paperback and then a couple months latter buy the mass market edition of the same book. Hell I just bought a book the other day because it was printed with a chunk missing out of it as if a rat had chewed through it.
Keep up the writing, and I hope you make it into the next edition. I can live without INTO THE FRAY if its because you are out pursuing a dream.

Thank you kindly! I do like writing. I'm not the best, of course, but it is nice to bring a story out of your head and into the real world (much like art, which I also do.)
And as for books...man, don't you just love 'em? The feel, the smell. Just holding one makes me happy. There's nothing better than going to a used book store and smelling print (and I don't mean in an addictive way, you pervs). Plus, a book is literally a gateway into another dimension. It takes you out of "reality" and transports you into a place where you can lose yourself for hours. People who don't take the time to red are really missing out on something special.

Lots of news today.... I found out a few days ago that another one of my stories will see print. Look for it in Zombology vol. 3. It's called "Mary" and it's about...well...I can't tell you Anyway, for those of you not keeping tracks that marks my 3rd printed story: Zombology Vol. 1 - "Halloween Treats" Vol. 6 - "I Am Legion" Vol. 3 - "Mary" I actually wrote "Mary" about a week after "Halloween Treats", but sat on it b/c I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with it. Then I found out Dr. Pus still had some slots to fill in his other volumes so I sent it in. It's relatively short (not even 3,000 words), but it's a nice little revenge story, I think. Hopefully people will like it. I'm currently writing a story for Horrology vol 1. It's called "Hallow's Evetown" and it's about a small town that celebrates Halloween year-round. It promises to have some spooky stuff. Also, Dr. P wants me to make two book covers for him. One is for Vampology Vol. 1 and the other is for a novel. More info later. By the way, if anyone out there likes to write feel free to send your stories to Dr. Pus. The only rule is that you have to join his message board ( libraryofthelivingdead.lefora.com/forum/ ) and follow his guidelines. And, yes, he does pay for them (the standard 1 cent per word if I remember correctly). So give it a try! You could be a published author! And lastly, the authors of Zombology vol 1 are considering doing a roundtable podcast. More info can be found at libraryofthelivingdead.lefora.com/2009/04/21/zombology-author-round-table/page1/. Once it's finalized I'll announce it again. Fans are encouraged to call in.
